We currently offer:
Kids Class: ages 5–12
Adult Class: ages 13 and up
If you’re unsure which class is the best fit, we’re happy to help you choose.
No experience is required.
We welcome complete beginners as well as students who have trained at other dojos. We’ll meet you where you are and help you build a solid foundation step by step.
For your first class, you can wear:
A t-shirt or athletic top
Comfortable athletic pants (no zippers, belts, or anything sharp)
Once you decide to continue, we’ll help you get a gi (karate uniform).
No. You do not need to be in great shape to begin training.
Our classes are designed to help you build fitness over time. We work with all fitness levels and can adjust drills based on your needs. Just let the instructor know about any injuries or limitations before class.
The fee is monthly, prorated for the first month based on the number of days you sign up. There is a one-time sign-up fee.
After the first month, you will be automatically charged on the first of the month.
We do not require long-term contracts. Tuition is paid monthly, so you’re never locked into a long commitment.
Yes. We make safety a top priority.
Our kids’ classes focus on:
Age-appropriate drills
Proper warm-ups and stretching
Controlled partner work
Respect, self-control, and using karate responsibly
We want children to build confidence and focus, not fear.
Parents are welcome to watch from our gym as long as it doesn’t disrupt class. We encourage family involvement and love having supportive parents in the dojo. There are also a few other seating areas in the Virgil Community Center.
We participate in a yearly tournament held each May in New Jersey. Information will be provided.
